Toyota-backed charging network IONNA has announced it has surpassed 180 live charging sites nationwide, more than doubling its network size since the beginning of 2026. Founded by eight global automakers including BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, IONNA operates the largest 400 kW charging network in the U.S. In its first year of eligibility, IONNA claimed the top ranking among DC Fast Chargers in the JD Power 2026 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Public Charging Study, focusing on coverage, reliability, and amenities.

Driving this expansion is a strategic partnership with Circle K, which has brought over 40 Rechargeries at Circle K locations online since an April 2026 announcement. IONNA’s CEO Seth Cutler emphasized that the network avoids a proprietary app, instead integrating with familiar platforms such as Presto, ChargeHub, and EV Connect, bringing the total of supported partner apps to 19. Furthermore, upcoming Plug & Charge capabilities for select Toyota and Lexus models are on the way, backed by app integrations from both brands.
