Ian Callum’s design studio has unveiled a track-focused GT1 interpretation of the reborn Jaguar XJ220, cloaked in vivid yellow and dripping with aero aggression.
The GT1 isn’t just a styling exercise—it’s a full-blooded homage to classic GT racers, packing a front splitter, aggressive canards, deep side skirts, and a towering rear wing perched above the rear fenders. The aero kit is all business, designed to pin the supercar to the tarmac.

The GT1’s exterior is a modernized take on the original XJ220’s flowing silhouette, but every panel has been reworked.

Up front, narrow LED headlights replace the original’s flip-down units, while the scuttle between windshield and hood remains—a nod to the 1990s supercar’s heritage.
The side fenders and doors are reshaped, the iconic side air intakes are enlarged, and the rear gets a clean decklid without the original’s spoiler, plus a new diffuser and bumper.

The GT1’s design study status means it’s not guaranteed to reach production, but the studio’s track record—including transforming four Jaguar C-X75 prototypes—hints at serious execution chops. Power remains a question mark.
The modernized XJ220 concept originally featured a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 churning out 542 HP (550 PS / 405 kW) and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm), mated to a 5-speed manual and capable of 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and a 212.3 mph top speed. Alternatively, the GT1 could swap in a V12, echoing the original XJ220’s abandoned engine plans.

For now, the GT1 is a rolling design statement, but if it ever hits the road, it’ll be in strictly limited numbers—if an XJ220 owner is willing to hand over their car for the transformation.
