A Ferrari 488 GTB, valued at $530,000, was damaged by four kids in China who used it as a slide, causing deep scratches and a cracked front bumper. The owner, who had never scratched the car before, is taking legal action against the parents of the children after they refused to cover the full costs of the damage, which was estimated to be over $14,700 but was reduced to $4,300 using aftermarket parts. The incident occurred in the city of Kunming, in the Yunnan province of Southwestern China, and was captured on CCTV footage. The kids, reportedly under 10 years old, climbed on the car, took a break on the windshield, moved on the roof, and used the rear glass as a slide. The owner, a father himself, tried to handle the situation with leniency but was forced to take legal action after the parents only offered $730 in compensation. The Ferrari 488 GTB, which is fitted with a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 661 HP, was purchased new for $530,000 and had never been scratched before. The owner is now seeking the full repair amount through a civil lawsuit, as Chinese law exempts children under 14 years old from administrative detention, leaving the civil court system as the only route for property owners to seek accountability from their legal guardians.
