Peugeot unveiled its E‑T16 concept in Paris last week, celebrating 40 years since the marque’s 1985 and 1986 WRC titles. The design pays homage to the legendary rally car while reshaping it into a hyperhatch reminiscent of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E.
The vehicle sits on Stellantis’ new STLA One modular platform, the same architecture that will underpin more than 30 EV, hybrid and combustion‑powered models, with Peugeot slated to be the first to use it. CEO Alain Favey told Autocar that the car is technically feasible and could be produced next year.

The E‑T16 is powered by three electric motors – two at the rear axle and one at the front – delivering a combined 805 HP and a 0‑62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 2.5 seconds. Favey expressed confidence that the performance figures are realistic for a production version.
If built, the E‑T16 would sit at the top of Peugeot’s lineup, offering a high‑powered halo the brand has lacked. Production would likely be limited and the price extremely high, but a future, more affordable variant with around 400 HP could give the marque a serious rival to the Audi RS3 and Mercedes‑AMG A45 S.
