A Dutch startup named Sanrivatti is attempting to redefine the hypercar segment by flipping the script on driver engagement. Instead of the conventional seated posture, the company is developing a hypercar architecture that prioritizes a superbike-inspired seating position—placing the driver dead center and stretched forward, almost as if they were tucked over a sportbike rather than seated in a traditional car. The startup, founded by automotive engineer Santiago Sánchez Rivero, claims this “driver-centered vehicle architecture” will deliver the most driver-focused experience ever seen in a hypercar. The approach starts with the human body, not the chassis or powertrain, meaning posture, balance, and physical interaction with the vehicle become the foundation of the design. While Sanrivatti hasn’t released detailed technical drawings or specifications, it emphasizes an “immediate and physical” connection between rider and road, drawing inspiration from the analog, visceral feel of superbikes. The idea isn’t entirely new—Chevrolet’s 2014 Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept famously explored a prone, face-down driving position controlled through body movements, though it was never intended for production. Despite the novelty, the startup insists its architecture will overcome the limitations of past concepts. Sanrivatti promises more details in the coming months, leaving enthusiasts to wonder whether this radical approach will translate into a real-world hypercar or remain another ambitious vaporware project in an already crowded field of exotic car concepts.
