China’s Longxing begins bulk deliveries of sustainable carbon black to European tire giant

China’s Longxing Technology Group has launched volume shipments of sustainable carbon black derived from waste-tire pyrolysis oil to a major European tire manufacturer, the company confirmed on 23 July 2026. The initial order exceeds 10 kilotonnes, marking Longxing’s first bulk supply of sustainable carbon black to an international tire producer. Longxing added that it has also entered development programmes for sustainable carbon black with other major European tire makers, with customer qualification ongoing. The move is part of Longxing’s push to commercialise circular-economy technologies. The supplier began researching carbon black made from tire-pyrolysis oil (TPO) in 2024 and completed development of its SC-series products in 2025. Regulatory approval for the production project was granted in December 2025. Unlike traditional recovered carbon black (rCB), which is produced directly from tire pyrolysis, Longxing’s sustainable carbon black uses pyrolysis oil from end-of-life tires to replace coal-tar feedstock in carbon-black manufacturing. Longxing calls the approach “the most promising and certain” route to lower-carbon carbon black, claiming it delivers better economics than conventional processes while advancing circularity and decarbonisation goals. With the first European customer now on board, Longxing is accelerating product sampling and certification with additional clients and planning phased capacity expansion tied to demand and order volumes. Future expansion remains contingent on market conditions, downstream demand and policy developments.
