A rare Gemballa Mirage GT, a rebodied Porsche Carrera GT, is set to be auctioned off by Mecum at its Monterey event. This particular model, number 24 of 25 built, features a unique Lime Rock Gray Metallic paint job with bright Sun Yellow accents. The car’s exterior has been completely revamped with new bodywork, including a bespoke front end, side skirts, and a large roof scoop. The interior boasts Slate Gray Alcantara with Yellow stitching, as well as an abundance of carbon fiber. The 5.7-liter V10 engine remains largely untouched, except for the addition of a new stainless steel exhaust, which brings the power output up to 645 HP. With only a handful of these modified Carrera GTs in the United States, this auction presents a rare opportunity for collectors. The Gemballa Mirage GT is a testament to the German tuner’s reputation for modifying the Carrera GT, which was established long before other companies like Zagato and Canepa got involved.
