Nissan is so confident in the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid that it even brought a fleet of hybrid Toyota RAV4s for back-to-back comparison during testing. The fourth-generation Rogue introduces the third generation of Nissan’s e-Power series-hybrid powertrain to the United States. The system pairs a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine running on the Miller cycle—acting strictly as a generator to feed a compact lithium-ion battery pack—with dual electric drive motors on the front and rear axles for full-time all-wheel drive with independent motor control. The engine features a larger turbocharger and is tuned to spend most of its time between 2000 and 5000 rpm, keeping noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) under tight control.

Combined output reaches 225 horsepower, delivering a 0-60 mph time estimated by Nissan at 6.4 seconds (and 6.3 seconds by Car and Driver testing estimates), which would outpace rivals like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Honda CR-V Hybrid. The setup includes five levels of regeneration, including a true one-pedal driving mode, plus Smooth Stop technology to manage deceleration pitch. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the midrange SR trim hits 41 MPG city, 36 MPG highway, and 38 MPG combined, while the SV and Platinum trims drop by 1 MPG on the highway and in combined ratings.

On curvy roads around Santa Barbara, California, the Rogue handled securely with rear-axle torque vectoring minimizing understeer. Inside, the cabin avoids fingerprint-attracting piano black plastic, extending faux leather across the seats, door trim, center console, dashboard, and central tunnel sides. Cargo capacity reaches up to 66 cubic feet with the second row folded, and rear doors open nearly 90 degrees for easy child seat installation. Tech features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen on SV and SR trims (with an optional 14.3-inch unit on the SR and standard on the Platinum running a Google-based OS with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), dedicated physical climate controls, and a magnetic wireless phone charger to keep devices from sliding.

Pricing for the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid starts at $37,065 for the SV variant. The SR trim starts at $39,065 and arrives first, while the SV and the $45,065 Platinum trim arrive in January. Official specifications list a curb weight between 4,100 and 4,200 pounds, a wheelbase of 106.5 inches, length of 183.1 inches, width of 72.8 inches, and height of 67.7 inches.
