Dunlop Geomax EN92 First Look: Enduro Tire Adds a Soft Compound Option

Dunlop has launched the Geomax EN92, an FIM-approved enduro competition tire that replaces the outgoing Geomax EN91 and doubles as a DOT-legal dual-sport tire. The headline update is a new soft-compound variant designed for wet, rocky, and root-heavy terrain, joining the standard medium-compound version. Dunlop has not disclosed US sizing, pricing, or an on-sale date for the EN92. The EN91’s successor is an evolution, not a clean-sheet design, with Dunlop prioritizing versatility across conditions.

The standard EN92 targets dry, grassy, flat, and hard-dirt surfaces—the core of most enduro events—while the Soft version steps in for slick, technical hard enduro terrain. The front tire features a staggered knob layout with reduced center rubber and wider gaps between blocks to enhance bite on hard, rocky ground and reduce rebound. Dunlop’s Progressive Cornering Block Technology Advanced (PCBT Advanced) improves cornering grip by flexing progressively as the bike leans, engaging the dirt gradually. The rear tire uses V-Block Technology, arranging knobs in a V pattern to boost traction and control when the tire loses grip.

Reinforced Scoop Technology stiffens the leading edge of the rear blocks, preventing them from folding over in soft terrain under power. Both tires adopt rounder sidewalls compared to the EN91, allowing the carcass to flex more over square-edged obstacles like rocks and roots. This reduces rider arm fatigue on long rides and maintains a more consistent contact patch as the bike leans, improving predictability. Dunlop developed the EN92 through international competition, including the FIM International Six Days Enduro, and debuted it publicly at the 99th ISDE in Bergamo, Italy, in 2025.

European buyers can choose from 90/90-21 and 140/80-18 sizes in both medium and soft compounds, with the 120/90-18 offered as a medium-only option. Dunlop Director of Motorcycle Marketing & Motorsports Chad Geer emphasized the EN92’s focus on expanding performance across a broader range of conditions, delivering improved traction, compliance, and confidence in tough environments.
