Mercedes-AMG is launching its most aggressive product offensive in history, with more than 27 new models hitting the market over the next three years. The push includes six- and eight-cylinder internal combustion models, a new GT Black Series, and a pair of hardcore V8-powered CLE models—one of which is the long-rumored Mythos. The lineup also features a G63 Convertible, an electric SUV based on the GT 4-Door Coupe’s platform, and a six-cylinder C53 to complement the recently launched GLC 53. The electric GT 4-Door Coupe, GLE 63, and GLS 63—all powered by the new flat-plane-crank V8—are already confirmed. Under the hood, AMG is streamlining its engine lineup from 10 variants down to just four: an upgraded six-cylinder and a new V8 will anchor the internal combustion range, while electrified models continue to expand. Despite regulatory pressures in Europe, including Euro 7, AMG insists its six- and eight-cylinder engines remain viable well into the 2030s. The strategy mirrors BMW M’s approach, balancing electrification with combustion performance to appeal to a broader audience. AMG aims to close the sales gap with BMW M, which sold a record 213,457 units last year compared to AMG’s 145,000. The push includes a planned E-Class wagon revival, potentially reviving the E63 Wagon to compete with the BMW M5 Touring and upcoming Audi RS6 Avant. While the next-generation E-Class will arrive as an EV in early 2028, combustion variants are expected to follow. AMG’s CEO, Michael Schiebe, emphasized the importance of driving experience in EVs, stating that excitement must come from behind the wheel. The new V8 engine is confirmed to arrive this year, underscoring AMG’s commitment to high-performance internal combustion despite shifting industry trends.
