Transport Topics is relaunching its flagship print product as a twice-monthly magazine, with redesigned issues starting June 29 and July 13, marking its biggest transformation in 92 years. The publication will preserve its mission to cover trucking policy, business, and technology, while enhancing its website with faster breaking news, more customization, and premium articles for subscribers. Transport Topics has been covering the news, issues, and trends that matter most to trucking industry leaders for over 90 years, from landmark laws and regulatory changes to ever-shifting business conditions. The publication traces its origins to June 4, 1934, when the American Trucking Associations published the first issue of what was then known as the “A.T.A. Registration Bulletin.” The Bulletin expanded beyond its initial purpose and was later renamed Transport Topics in 1935, after a reader contest. Through the years, Transport Topics has covered significant laws that reshaped the trucking industry, including the passage of the highway bill in 1956 that secured funding for the construction of the Interstate Highway System, and the Motor Carrier Act of 1980, which deregulated trucking. The publication has also chronicled major world events from trucking’s vantage point, including World War II, the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and constant advances in trucking equipment and technology.
