Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the refreshed Marco Polo, a high-road camper that blends smart design, everyday usability, and premium comfort. The new model arrives as a fully in-house conversion, marking a milestone in the Marco Polo’s history. The base V-Class is built at Mercedes-Benz Vans’ plant in Vitoria, Spain, then shipped to the company’s Ludwigsfelde plant near Berlin for the Marco Polo conversion—its first time the entire process has been handled internally. The move is designed to tighten quality control, streamline production, and cut delivery times.

The refreshed Marco Polo puts the focus on livability with a raft of new features. The updated pop-top roof now sports a lightweight double-shell aluminium structure that’s more robust and adds 10 cm of extra headroom in the rear bay, boosting both standing and sleeping comfort. A new LED ambient lighting system wraps around the roof, offering multiple programmable moods from cool, energizing tones to warm, cozy hues. Later this year, an optional panoramic roof and a new sliding roof will flood the cabin with daylight and fresh air, while at night they open up an unobstructed view of the stars.

The awning system has been completely reworked for easier, tool-free fitting and removal—handy for quick stops at a car wash or campsite. The crank handle now stows securely inside the awning bracket. For privacy and restful sleep, magnetic blackout panels can be clipped into place in seconds at the cockpit.

Audio gets a serious upgrade with a bespoke eight-speaker sound system, complete with subwoofer, tuned specifically for the Marco Polo. Bluetooth streaming works even with the infotainment system off, so music keeps flowing during road trips or while camping.

Connectivity is smarter than ever thanks to an updated Mercedes-Benz Advanced Control (MBAC) system. The MBAC app and the head-unit display now let owners control the new LED ambient lighting and the refreshed sound system from a single interface. Other comfort tweaks include redesigned fold-down tables, smoother drawer runners, a revised control panel on the seating bench, and a more energy-efficient cooler box.

Mercedes-Benz is also celebrating 140 years of innovation with a global tour: the “140 Years. 140 Places” campaign sends three new S-Class sedans on a transcontinental journey to 140 destinations across six continents, showcasing the brand’s heritage, technology, and worldwide reach through October.
