Sumitomo Rubber to Exit Karting Tire Business

Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) has announced that it will discontinue its supply of karting tires by the end of 2027. The decision follows a review of the company’s business direction and resource allocation as part of its medium- to long-term management strategy. SRI has supplied karting tires under the Dunlop brand since 1976, including products homologated by the Commission Internationale de Karting-FIA (CIK-FIA) and the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF). The company will continue to supply products to existing customers until December 31, 2027, when the supply will end.
