The rubber and tire industry has seen significant developments over the last seven days, with various companies reporting their financial results and announcing new projects. Selected tire manufacturers’ share-price trends show that Bridgestone Corp.’s share price increased by 1.1% to Yen3,747, while Goodyear’s share price rose by 4.5% to $7.45. Hankook’s share price also increased by 4.2% to KRW76,700. On the other hand, Michelin’s share price decreased by 0.9% to €34.92. Nokian Tyres’ share price saw a significant increase of 15.0% to €15.00. In terms of rubber product manufacturers, Avon Technologies’ share price rose by 3.1% to £17.24, while Cooper-Standard’s share price decreased by 1.8% to $29.00. Datwyler’s share price decreased by 4.5% to CHF143.80. The natural rubber futures price trends on major trading exchanges show that the Osaka RSS3 Sept ’26 price increased by 1.5% to 423.0 JPY. The SHFE SCR/RSS Sept ’26 price remained relatively stable, decreasing by 0.0% to 16,795 CNY. The INE TSR Sept ’26 price decreased by 0.7% to 14,570 CNY. The SICOM TSR20 Sept ’26 price decreased by 0.4% to 213.9 US$c. The SHFE BR Sept ’26 price increased by 9.2% to 13,645 CNY. Several companies have reported their financial results, including Datwyler, which saw a 3.5% increase in sales to CHF582.7m and a 9.9% increase in earnings to CHF75.7m. Nokian Tyres reported a 10.6% increase in sales to €380m and a 136% increase in earnings to €35m. Semperit Group reported a forecasted earnings of €40m for Q2/26 and €100m for FY26. TSRC Corp. reported a 32% increase in earnings to NT$651m. NOK Corp. reported a 3.7% decrease in sales to Yen738.4bn and an 11.5% decrease in earnings to Yen33.0bn. Avon Technologies reported a 6.8% increase in sales to GBP160.8m and a 39.4% increase in earnings to GBP24.4m. JK Tyre reported an 11% increase in sales to $1,746m and a 25% increase in earnings to $222m. Fukoku Co. reported a 0.4% increase in sales to Yen90bn and a 19.4% decrease in earnings to Yen3.8bn. Hankook reported a 9.3% increase in sales to KRW2.57trn and a 31% increase in earnings to KRW437.5bn. Toyo Tire Corp. reported a 3.4% decrease in sales to Yen130.9bn and an 8.1% decrease in earnings to Yen20.6bn. Recently reported capacity additions and expansions include Befar Group’s plan to build a 250ktpa speciality rubber plant by 2029, Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical’s plan to build a new 80ktpa carbon black plant, and Ceat Ltd’s plan to expand its 2W tire production. Other notable projects include Kumho Tire’s investment in a new tire plant, Zenith Group’s plan to build a plant to produce steel cord for tires, and Wanli Tire’s plan to establish a new tire manufacturing plant in Malaysia. Pirelli has also announced a major US investment plan worth $1-1.2bn, pending approval at an upcoming board meeting.
