Royal Enfield is rolling out two back-to-back adventure experiences in Ladakh, India, this September, giving riders and outdoor enthusiasts a chance to push their limits at altitude. The first, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Basecamp, is a three-day multi-sport festival in Leh kicking off September 4 at Chuchot Ground—situated at 11,480 feet. Running through September 6, the event blends motorcycling with a full roster of adrenaline-pumping activities: 4WD overlanding, mountain biking, kayaking, rafting on the Indus and Zanskar rivers, rock climbing, bouldering, hiking, and paragliding. A wellness track featuring breathwork, cold exposure, and altitude recovery is woven into the schedule, alongside challenges like the Navigation Challenge and the Monastery Ride.

Basecamp tickets start at ₹1,499 (about $18 USD). For those who want to keep the momentum going, Moto Himalaya 2026 is a guided, high-altitude expedition on the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Batch 3 of the ride runs from September 4–14, overlapping with the Basecamp’s final days. After a three-day acclimatization in Leh, riding begins September 7, covering nearly 1,000 miles across tarmac, dirt, gravel, and extreme mountain passes.

The route snakes from Leh to Pangong Tso (13,860 feet), south to Hanle (~14,700 feet), up to Umling La (19,024 feet)—one of the world’s highest motorable passes—and through Sarchu, Shinku La (16,580 feet), Padum, Zangla, and back to Leh. Riders camp under open skies at Hanle. The $2,500 fee covers the Himalayan 450, lodging, and all meals. Earlier Moto Himalaya batches for 2026 run July 4–14 and July 18–28, but those dates don’t include the Basecamp festival, which is exclusive to September.

Together, the two events form a natural two-week adventure: acclimate at the festival, then ride into some of the most punishing high-altitude terrain on Earth. Registration for the Himalayan Basecamp is open via the District ticketing website in India, while Moto Himalaya 2026 can be booked through the Royal Enfield website.
