Peugeot is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its first Le Mans entry in 1926 with a slate of special editions across six models, leaving just the Rifter and Traveller vans out of the party. The 24 Hours Le Mans editions will cover the 208 hatchback, 308 hatchback and estate, 408 fastback, 3008 SUV, and 5008 SUV, all riding on the high-spec GT trim. The official reveal is timed for the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans, with sales kicking off at the same event. Expect sporty styling cues, premium interiors, and high-output powertrains, though Peugeot hasn’t detailed the tech or drivetrains yet. The brand promises a “full package” beyond just looks, hinting at advanced tech and performance upgrades. Peugeot’s marketing chief, Phil York, told Auto Express the Le Mans editions will be a “different package” compared to the GTi line, delivering “real value” to buyers. A year out from launch, the first teaser images show little more than dark silhouettes, so the final design tweaks remain under wraps. While the announcement spotlights styling, Peugeot insists the editions will pack substance, likely leveraging the plug-in hybrid or electric variants of each model for maximum output. The move follows a dramatic 2024 Le Mans, where Toyota Racing dominated with a 1-3 finish, BMW M took second, and Cadillac placed fourth. Ferrari’s three-year winning streak ended with its sole surviving 499P Hypercar finishing fifth, just ahead of the Alpine A424. Peugeot’s updated 9X8 hybrid hypercars rounded out the field in 11th and 12th places.
