Major Carmakers Urge Congress to Permanently Ban Chinese Cars

A coalition of major automakers, represented by the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, has urged Congress to permanently ban Chinese connected vehicles, software, and hardware from the US market. The call for a ban comes as lawmakers consider multiple bills that would restrict Chinese vehicle technologies, including legislation that advanced through a Senate panel in July. The current legislative session is set to end in January, and the alliance is pushing for a permanent ban on Chinese cars and connected vehicle technologies before then.
