Honda Unveils 2027 Limited Edition Prelude in Deep Red, Starts Sales in Japan This August

Honda has rolled out a 2027 Limited Edition version of its Prelude hybrid coupe, cloaked in a striking Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint job that’s exclusive to this variant.

The deep red exterior is paired with Bordeaux interior accents, including red stitching and matching inserts on the seats, center console, and dashboard.

The cabin also features black leather upholstery with Bordeaux detailing, while the passenger-side dash logo is rendered in red instead of white.

Mechanical upgrades are minimal, as the Limited Edition retains the same hybrid powertrain as the standard Prelude: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to dual electric motors, producing a combined 200 HP (149 kW / 203 PS).

Power is sent to the front wheels via Honda’s S+Shift system, which simulates gear shifts with torque mapping and artificial sound effects for a more engaging drive.

The exterior design includes red accents on the bumpers (replacing the standard blue), a matching grille molding, 19-inch alloy wheels with a Machined Black Clear finish, and red Brembo brake calipers.

The 2027 Limited Edition Prelude is already open for orders in Japan, with deliveries slated to begin on August 20.

Pricing is set at ¥6,306,300 (approximately $39,300), which is ¥126,500 ($800) more than the standard Prelude.

Honda has not yet confirmed whether this Limited Edition will expand to other markets like North America for the 2027 model year.

The Prelude itself debuted in Japan in September 2025, with the earlier ON Limited Edition featuring a Moonlit Pearl paint job, black roof, mirrors, and alloy wheels.
