A 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8 that carried a sticker price of $177,000 when new now averages $114,800 on the used market, according to J.D. Power.

That’s a five-year loss of roughly $62,200—or about 35% of its original value. Rough-condition examples dip to $95,600, while top-tier cars fetch up to $134,900.
Kelley Blue Book estimates private-party values between $107,000 and $119,000 for good-condition models, while Classic.com pegs the typical sale price between $100,000 and $120,000. For buyers who loaded up on options, the hit is even steeper.
CarEdge estimates that a 2021 Bentayga V8 with a $224,333 as-equipped price now sits at $122,094, meaning the first owner lost over $100,000 in five years. iSeeCars reports the Bentayga sheds 42.7% of its value over five years, slightly below the 43.6% segment average. The steep depreciation isn’t surprising in the ultra-luxury SUV segment, where options like Bentley’s First Edition package (adding $42,430) and Mulliner Driving Specification ($15,515) inflate the new price but rarely translate to used value.

Bentley’s own data shows the Bentayga accounts for 40% of the brand’s global sales, ensuring strong supply and softening resale prices. Servicing costs also weigh on used Bentayga ownership, averaging nearly $2,000 per year out of warranty.

The Bentayga shares underpinnings with the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne, a fact that further erodes its premium appeal as it ages. Despite the depreciation, a five-year-old V8 model may now offer better value than a brand-new competitor like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which starts at roughly double the price.

Buyers should proceed with caution, however, as out-of-warranty repairs on a high-end SUV can be ruinously expensive. The smart move is to target the cleanest, best-documented example and let the first owner’s six-figure loss subsidize the badge.
