DTM: Wittmann Wins and Takes Podium, Back in Title Race at Nürburgring

Marco Wittmann has secured his first DTM win of the season and the 20th of his career in the Sunday race at the Nürburgring, driving the #11 Schaeffler BMW M4 GT3 EVO. He also finished third on the podium on Saturday. With a strong points haul, Wittmann is back in the title race, now in fifth place with 135 points and a 25-point deficit. The Schubert Motorsport team is third in the team standings with 201 points and a 30-point gap to the top. Kelvin van der Linde had a frustrating weekend, retiring due to a technical issue on Saturday and being innocently involved in a start accident on Sunday. Wittmann’s win brings him back into contention for his third drivers’ title, with four races remaining in the season.
