Datwyler accelerates US consolidation under ForwardNow plan

Swiss industrial group Datwyler is pressing ahead with the next phase of its ForwardNow transformation programme, focusing on portfolio optimisation and process standardisation. The company confirmed on 23 July 2026 that it will consolidate three US sites under its General Industry division into a single new facility in Houston, with the move set to begin by early 2027. Datwyler did not disclose which sites are involved or further operational details. The group described the ForwardNow programme as having reached “the halfway point” of implementation, with the second phase set to accelerate business portfolio transformation and standardise core processes. The first phase already delivered optimised manufacturing footprints, streamlined product portfolios, and organisational changes. In Healthcare, Datwyler has also refined its North American manufacturing network to align with future market demands. The company reaffirmed its target of securing around CHF52 million (€56 million) in cumulative one-off benefits by the end of 2027, alongside sustainable annual profitability improvements of CHF24 million from 2028 onwards. ForwardNow, launched in 2024, remains central to Datwyler’s strategy to boost profitability through operational efficiencies and a sharper focus on high-value products and applications. At a capital markets day in November 2025, the group outlined how ForwardNow would strengthen core competencies, improve efficiency, and accelerate growth in high-barrier markets, particularly in healthcare and advanced industrial sealing solutions. Despite ongoing geopolitical and trade-policy uncertainty, Datwyler expects to “continue gradually increasing revenue and profitability,” driven by targeted innovation investments and disciplined execution of the transformation programme.
