Mercedes-Benz has deepened its ties to tennis by welcoming Andrea Petković as a new brand ambassador, coinciding with the return of the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart. The appointment was marked by a personal reception in Stuttgart, where Christina Schenck, Head of Digital & Communications and Investor Relations at Mercedes-Benz, greeted Petković. The event highlighted the brand’s long-standing connection to the city and the sport. Petković, a former professional tennis player, is celebrated for her authenticity, strong voice, and versatility, qualities that align with Mercedes-Benz’s brand values. “Andrea Petković is an extraordinary personality — with her authentic style and strong voice, she fits perfectly with our brand. We are delighted to welcome her to the Mercedes-Benz family here in Stuttgart. We see great potential and look forward to leveraging her strengths as a moderator, speaker, and thoughtful commentator in our brand activities,” said Schenck. Petković added, “Tennis has shaped my life for many years as a player and remains an important part of it. I am thrilled to continue supporting the sport in a new role with Mercedes-Benz, helping to make women’s tennis and WTA initiatives more visible and actively shaping its future.” Mercedes-Benz also returns as the official automotive partner of the BOSS OPEN, ensuring mobility for players, officials, and selected guests during the tournament. The ATP 250 event, part of the ATP Tour, takes place from June 6 to 14, 2026, at the TC Weissenhof venue in Stuttgart. The partnerships with Petković and the BOSS OPEN are part of Mercedes-Benz’s broader tennis strategy, which includes global collaborations with the WTA Tour and the Laver Cup, as well as ambassadorships with Coco Gauff and Roger Federer. The brand continues to expand its presence in tennis, creating emotional brand experiences on both global and regional levels. The announcement comes as Mercedes-Benz celebrates its 140th anniversary of innovation, marking 144 years since Carl Benz patented the first automobile and Gottlieb Daimler built the first motor carriage. The milestone underscores the brand’s commitment to innovation, from the world’s first automobile in 1886 to today’s intelligent and safe electric vehicles like the new GLC and award-winning new CLA. The latest S-Class continues the brand’s largest model offensive in its history, reinforcing Mercedes-Benz’s legacy of performance, pioneering spirit, excellence, and customer focus. To celebrate 140 years, Mercedes-Benz launched the “140 Years. 140 Places” tour, sending three new S-Class sedans on a transcontinental journey to 140 destinations worldwide. The tour runs until October and invites customers, fans, and employees to participate in celebrations across six continents, showcasing the brand’s technology, heritage, pioneering spirit, and global reach.
