Alpinestars, a renowned Italian brand, has been providing protection gear for riders for over six decades. The company recently launched its first full-face street helmet, the Supertech R10, which is the missing link in its comprehensive portfolio.

The R10 builds upon the groundwork established by the Supertech M10 off-road helmet, featuring a complex outer shell made of carbon fiber, aramid fiber, and fiberglass. The shell exceeds ECE 22.06 requirements by 37 percent for linear impact and 65 percent for rotational impact.

The helmet is certified to ECE 22.06, DOT, and FIM standards simultaneously. The R10 features a multi-density EPS liner, padded collarbone protection, and a patented A-Head fitment system for customization.

The helmet’s aerodynamics is its standout feature, with a design that reduces wind resistance and provides a stable ride. The R10 is available in four distinct shell sizes, spanning the XS-2XL range, and weighs approximately 3.4 pounds.

The internal head shape is an intermediate oval, aligning with Arai or Shoei in terms of fit. While the R10 doesn’t quite reach the luxury bar set by Japanese helmet makers, it offers a pleasantly snug race fit with supportive cheek pads.

However, the helmet doesn’t accommodate eyewear in the padding or EPS liners. The R10’s focus on racing is evident, but it still accommodates communication devices.

Overall, the Alpinestars Supertech R10 is a premium helmet that offers exceptional protection, aerodynamics, and customization options.
