The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R stands as the final traditional middleweight supersport bike on the market. Aimed at riders who spend most of their time on the street, the 2024 model brings engine updates, a new TFT display, and fresh bodywork.

Powered by a 636cc inline-4 engine featuring 36cc more displacement than a classic 600, it delivers stronger low-end and midrange pull. Updates for 2024 include new intake funnels, camshaft profiles with lower lift and shorter duration, a redesigned header, a relocated O2 sensor, and a revised fuel map designed to boost low-to-midrange power, though some top-end power above 12,500 rpm is sacrificed.
The 6-speed transmission features an assist-and-slipper clutch and an up-only quickshifter, while the cable throttle excludes an autoblipper for clutchless downshifts. A 4.3-inch TFT display brings Bluetooth connectivity via Rideology The App for ride logs, vehicle info, and notifications.
Riders can select from Sport, Road, and Rain modes which adjust traction control across three levels and power between full and low, alongside a customizable Rider mode that allows traction control to be switched off entirely. Without an IMU, cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control are not included.

Agility comes via a short 55.1-inch wheelbase and a 24.5-degree rake. Suspension duties are managed by a fully adjustable 41mm Showa Big Piston Separate Function fork and a fully adjustable Showa shock, paired with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires replacing the previous Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22s.

An aggressive riding position is set by clip-ons, rearsets, and a tight cockpit. Round 310mm front discs replace petal-style rotors, working with radially mounted 4-piston Nissin monobloc calipers, while a Bosch 9.3MP ABS system is available as a $1,000 option.

New front and side fairings feature vertical winglet-style inlets and chin spoilers inspired by the ZX-10R, complemented by a windscreen with buffeting-reduction cutouts, LED low beams, and turn signals. The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R starts at $11,299 MSRP, or $12,299 with ABS.
Available color options include Metallic Flat Spark Black / Ebony, Pearl Robotic White / Metallic Graphite Gray, and the KRT Edition Lime Green / Ebony, which carries no extra cost. Engine specifications feature an inline-4 636cc displacement, 67.0 x 45.1mm bore and stroke, 12.9:1 compression ratio, maximum torque of 52 ft-lbs at 11,500 rpm, and EFI with four Mikuni 38mm throttle bodies.

The final drive uses a sealed chain. Chassis components include 4.7 inches of front suspension travel and 5.9 inches of rear suspension travel, running on 120/70 x 17 front and 180/55 x 17 rear tires.

Braking is handled by 310mm front discs with radially mounted 4-piston Nissin monobloc calipers and a 220mm rear disc with a single-piston Nissin caliper. Dimensions include a 4.1-inch trail, a 32.7-inch seat height, a 4.5-gallon fuel tank capacity, and a curb weight of 426 pounds, increasing to 430 pounds with ABS.
