Second-generation BYD Seal 07 display units have arrived at Chinese dealerships in Aurora Pink and Pala Green, featuring roof-mounted LiDAR for the DiPilot 300 ADAS suite. The electric sedan has begun arriving at dealerships across China following its blind orders opened.

The top version produces 300 kW (402 HP) and has a claimed CLTC range of 875 km, equivalent to 718 km under the WLTP cycle. Dealer billing notices reportedly list a preliminary allocation price of 180,000 yuan (25,250 USD), but this is not the final retail price.

Customer deliveries are planned for November. The Seal 07 range sold 624 units in September: 296 DM-i hybrids and 328 EVs.

DM-i sales plunged 54.8% month-on-month, while EV sales slipped 3.5%, according to China EV DataTracker. BYD has yet to announce the new model’s pricing or launch date.

The current EV costs 169,900 to 189,900 yuan (25,500 to 28,500 USD), while the DM-i is priced at 149,800 to 186,800 yuan (22,500 to 28,000 USD). The second-generation Seal 07 measures 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall, with a 2,960 mm wheelbase.

The battery-electric version also gets a 160-litre front trunk, while the plug-in hybrid does not. The battery-electric Seal 07 moves to rear-wheel drive on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo.

The entry-level version has a claimed range of 775 km under CLTC, equivalent to approximately 636 km WLTP. The higher-output model is rated for 875 km CLTC or approximately 718 km WLTP.

BYD says the second-generation Blade Battery supports flash charging, promoting a charge that is ready in 5 minutes and full in 9 minutes, though actual charging times depend on operating conditions. The Seal 07 DM-i pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged gasoline engine rated at 115 kW (154 HP) with a 160 kW (215 HP) electric motor.

Its 38.029 kWh LFP battery provides a listed electric range of 245 km under WLTC. A depleted-battery fuel-consumption figure is not included because published reports differ.
