Bentley is expanding its hardcore Supersports lineup with a drop-top variant, as confirmed by spy shots of a prototype undergoing testing at the Nürburgring. While lopping the roof off a tautened, track-focused machine means sacrificing some torsional stiffness and adding weighty reinforcement, the Supersports remains a true Bentley rather than an outright GT3 RS rival.
The recipe mirrors the Supersports coupe, featuring a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 pumping out 657bhp and 590lb ft of torque, working entirely without electrical assistance or front drive shafts. Unlike the coupe, which achieves a sub-2-ton figure, the convertible will likely take on extra weight from the folding roof mechanism, insulation, and structural strengthening—similar to the 170kg weight penalty a Continental Speed GTC carries over its coupe sibling.

Visual cues from the testing prototype show the same aggressive aero addenda below the belt line, including vortex-generating canards, massive brake and heat exchanger ducting on the front bumper, a sizable boot-lid spoiler, and outsized Akrapovic exhaust tips, paired with a fabric roof. Like the hardtop, the Supersports convertible is expected to be a strictly limited run of just 500 units, and it will likely carry a price tag exceeding the coupe’s £342,900 list price.
