Tesla has extended delivery timelines for the Model Y L Launch Series in the U.S., with the online configurator indicating that orders placed today could face delivery dates as late as March 2027. According to information shared on X by Sawyer Merritt, estimated delivery windows have shifted to January through March 2027 for all configurations, moving out from the previous January through February timeline. Some buyers are experiencing even further pushes, with estimated deliveries showing February through April 2027, which was confirmed by another order holder seeing a window between February 10 and April 17. The delays stem from high demand for the six-seater Model Y variant combined with supply issues, which likely also explains why Tesla has not yet introduced lower-priced regular Model Y L trims. The Model Y L was introduced in the U.S. in July with order books opening immediately for the Launch Series edition, which starts at US$61,990—making it US$4,000 more expensive than the Performance trim. This premium price includes perks such as a year of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Supercharging, and Premium Connectivity, alongside exclusive additions like custom floor mats, puddle lights, unique badging, and special door sill plates. Accessories for the Model Y L have also been launched. The SUV delivers an EPA-estimated driving range of 332 miles (534 km). Meanwhile, there is no official word on the launch of the Model Y L in Canada, where recent government restrictions limit Tesla’s ability to import vehicles from China until at least March 2027, leaving the arrival timeline unclear.
