Japanese chemical giant Zeon Corp. has launched its first subscription-based digital service: a cloud-based R&D data management platform tailored for elastomer development. Initially available only to customers in Japan, the platform aims to solve a long-standing industry issue—fragmented R&D data—by centralising compounding agent master data, catalogue information, and historical development records into a single, searchable database. Zeon says the system is designed with an interface optimised for rubber material research, prioritising usability and data visibility to speed up day-to-day development workflows. The platform is positioned as a key growth initiative under the third phase of Zeon’s Stage30 medium-term management plan, reflecting the company’s push beyond traditional elastomer supply into digital solutions. Functionality will expand based on customer feedback, according to Zeon. The service was announced on 29 June and rolled out the following day.
