Sumitomo Riko Expands Anti-Vibration Rubber Parts Capacity in US

Sumitomo Riko has invested $4.5 million (€3.9 million) to expand its automotive anti-vibration rubber parts plant in Bluffton, Ohio. The expansion, set to commence operations in August, will increase the plant’s production capacity by around 15% and enable mass production of engine mounts for Ford pickup trucks. This investment follows a contract award from a leading North American OEM, with Sumitomo Riko’s product development and supply systems being highly evaluated by the customer. The company operates three manufacturing plants in North America, including two in the US and one in Mexico, producing a range of anti-vibration rubber products and automotive hose products. By strengthening its US production base, Sumitomo Riko aims to further enhance its stable supply system in the North American market.
