The 37th edition of the BMW International Open teed off on July 1, 2026, at Golfclub München Eichenried, marking the start of a five-day tournament running through July 5. Despite unsettled weather, the traditional Pro-Am event drew a glittering lineup of celebrities from sports and entertainment, who paired up with professional golfers for a shortened nine-hole round due to overcast skies and rain.
Among the high-profile amateurs were football icons Philipp Lahm and Oliver Bierhoff, FC Bayern Munich basketball players Andreas Obst and Johannes Voigtmann, NHL stars Moritz Seider and Tim Stützle, BMW M Motorsport driver Jordan Pepper, seven-time Olympic luge champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt, two-time Olympic bobsleigh gold medalist Johannes Lochner, and German screen actors Kai Wiesinger and Kostja Ullmann. Before play began, defending champions Martin Kaymer and Matti Schmid, alongside Marco Penge, fielded questions from the media in a press conference streamed live from the event’s Media Center.
Video recordings of all press conferences are available for editorial use in the Virtual Media Center. The main tournament’s opening round starts Thursday at 7:30 a.m., with players grouped in threes and teeing off simultaneously from both the 1st and 10th tees. All tee times are listed in the attached PDF document.
