Rush Enterprises has finalized the acquisition of five Peterbilt dealerships in South Louisiana, expanding its footprint across Baton Rouge, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans. The deal, announced on June 30, 2026, adds five full-service Peterbilt locations, one collision center and one PacLease operation to the Rush Truck Centers network. The acquired sites will operate under the Rush Truck Centers and Rush Truck Leasing banners. The transaction brings 46 additional service bays, more than 23,000 square feet of parts storage and roughly 107,000 square feet of facility space into Rush’s Gulf South Region, which is now led by Regional General Manager Mark Kanitz. Rush Enterprises chairman, CEO and president W.M. “Rusty” Rush highlighted Peterbilt of Louisiana’s strong regional reputation and welcomed its employees to the Rush Enterprises family. The acquisition strengthens Rush’s ability to serve commercial vehicle customers with sales, service, parts, collision repair and leasing support along the Gulf Coast. It also cements Rush Truck Centers’ position as North America’s largest Peterbilt dealer group. With this deal, Rush now operates 167 Rush Truck Centers and 61 Rush Truck Leasing locations across 24 U.S. states and Ontario.
