NTDC narrows 2026 field to 45 finalists for Bendix Grand Championship

The National Truck Driving and Step Van Driving Championships (NTDC) has announced 45 finalists who will compete for the Bendix Grand Championship in Pittsburgh on August 14, 2026. The finalists emerged from an initial field of 429 competitors representing 49 states and 55 companies, including drivers from UPS, FedEx, Walmart, and others. According to organizers, the finalists have collectively logged 775 million accident-free miles, underscoring the event’s focus on safety and professional driving excellence. The competition spans nine classes, with five finalists in each category. The overall grand champion will be crowned during an evening banquet reception following the finals. Heath Arnold, chairman of the NTDC, praised the finalists, stating, “Over the past several days, these professional drivers have demonstrated the skill, discipline and commitment to safety that define the very best of our industry. Every competitor who earned a place at NTDC should be immensely proud of that accomplishment.” The finalists include drivers from major logistics and retail companies such as FedEx, UPS, Walmart Transportation, ABF Freight System, XPO, and others. The event, held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, traces its origins to 1937 and remains a premier showcase for professional truck drivers.
