Mobileye founder Amnon Shashua to step down as CEO

Amnon Shashua, co-founder and CEO of Mobileye Global Inc., announced on July 23, 2026, that he will step down from his CEO role once a successor is appointed. Shashua, who co-founded Mobileye in 1999, led the company through a landmark 2014 IPO, its 2017 sale to Intel Corp. for more than $15 billion, and its 2022 relisting. Under his leadership, Mobileye became a key supplier of driver-assistance systems, collaborating with automakers such as Toyota Motor Corp., Volkswagen Group, General Motors Co., and Ford Motor Co. However, Mobileye’s shares have fallen nearly 60% since the 2022 relisting. The company also reported quarterly earnings that beat analysts’ estimates. Shashua, 66, will remain CEO until a replacement is named. The Mobileye board has offered him the role of Chairman, allowing him to focus on research. Shashua’s tenure was marked by a high-profile clash with Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk following a 2016 fatal crash involving a Model S using Autopilot, a system then reliant on Mobileye cameras. Mobileye and Tesla ended their partnership in 2016.
