New Honda Africa Twin CRF1150L Adventure Sports With extensive updates, Honda CRF1150L Africa Twin Series bikes are better equipped to meet the needs of a wide range of users At EICMA 2026, Honda has showcased various new models and concepts. One of the main attractions is 2027 CRF1150L Africa Twin large-size adventure bike series, which now has three models. In addition to the standard CRF1150L Africa Twin, there’s CRF1150L Africa Twin Adventure Sports and the all-new CRF1150L Africa Twin Enduro Sports. Each bike has its own distinct styling and specialized parts for a more personalized riding experience.

2027 Honda CRF1150L Africa Twin Series – What’s new? A larger 1,131 cc liquid cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine has been used for the all-new CRF1150L Africa Twin Series models. This engine generates 119 PS at 7,500 rpm and 119 Nm at 5,700 rpm. The updated bikes also feature improvements to the intake/exhaust system and new gear ratios for enhanced performance and effortless cruising.

New Honda Africa Twin CRF1150L Family With a new chassis and swingarm, the updated bikes are 1.4 kg lighter than the previous-gen models. A lower centre of gravity has been achieved with the addition of an underseat supplementary fuel tank. This ensures enhanced control and manoeuvrability. The Standard and Sports models get SHOWA Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment (SHOWA EERA™) electronically controlled suspension (manufactured by Astemo, Ltd.) with Honda Skyhook control.

This system monitors the vehicle behaviour in real time and adjusts the damping force accordingly to reduce unwanted movements and ensure greater stability. The new models get six default riding modes, allowing better adaptation to different riding conditions. The riding modes work by adjusting engine performance, ABS, DCT, traction control and the electronically controlled suspension. The standard model comes with an electrically adjustable windscreen.
New Honda Africa Twin CRF1150L Standard ADAS for Sports model For enhanced safety, the CRF1150L Africa Twin Adventure Sports gets the Honda SENSING RIDE advanced safety and rider-assistive system. This is an optional feature available with the DCT variant (automatic dual-clutch transmission). The CRF1150L Africa Twin Adventure Sports is Honda’s first model to get the SENSING RIDE system. This system is powered by millimetre-wave radar units mounted at either end of the motorcycle.

Based on the environment and emerging risks, the system generates notifications and warnings. Operational assistance is also provided, depending on the situation. Honda SENSING RIDE has car-like functions such as emergency brake assist, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring and rear collision warning. Also included are adaptive cruise control with stop and go, group ride assist and distance assist.

It is apparent that several of these features can work only with the DCT variant of CRF1150L Africa Twin Adventure Sports. New Honda Africa Twin CRF1150L Enduro Sports New Enduro model For all-out off-road performance, Honda has added an entirely new model – the CRF1150L Africa Twin Enduro Sports. While sharing the core hardware with the standard Africa Twin model, the Enduro variant has more ground clearance and taller seat height. The suspension travel is longer and the bike has fully adjustable CRF450RALLY-spec 49 mm closed cartridge USD front forks and Pro-Link Showa rear monoshock.

Honda CRF1150L Africa Twin Enduro Sports also features sporty styling, derived from the CRF450 RALLY. Other key highlights include dual LED headlights, raised front fender, Honda SMART key, knuckle guards and cruise control. Enduro Sports variant has transmission options of a six-speed manual and a six-speed DCT.
