According to the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA), India’s tire exports rose 16% year-on-year in value to INR77 billion (€702 million) in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27. However, export volumes were broadly flat, increasing 1% to 13.28 million units. The growth was driven by a 15% rise in passenger car radial (PCR) tire exports and a 42% jump in motorcycle tire exports. Farm/agricultural tire exports declined 17% year-on-year, while truck and bus radial (TBR) tire exports fell 14%. The US remained the largest destination for Indian TBR tires, while Germany was the largest market for PCR tires. Brazil was the largest importing country for Indian motorcycle tires. The growth in exports was achieved despite geopolitical uncertainty, disruptions in shipping routes, and elevated input and logistics costs.
