Hankook Tire & Technology has reported a 58.1% increase in second quarter operating profit, with consolidated revenue reaching KRW5,682 billion (€3.47 billion), up 5.8% year-on-year. The tire business generated a revenue of KRW2,807 billion, an 11.8% increase from the second quarter of 2025, while segment operating profit increased 39.5% to KRW483.2 billion. The company attributed the tire business performance to stable replacement demand and increased OE supply, alongside improved average selling prices and product mix. High-value products, including tires 18 inches and larger, accounted for 49.5% of passenger car and light truck sales, while EV tires represented 31.8% of PC/LT OE sales. The thermal management business also saw gains, with sales rising 0.6% year-on-year to KRW2,875 billion and segment operating profit increasing 61.2% to KRW103.7 billion. The company’s focus on profitability-focused pricing and product-mix strategies, as well as growth in key markets, supported revenue growth. Hankook’s European tire revenue increased to KRW1,240 billion, while North American tire revenue rose to KRW645 billion despite weaker consumer sentiment. The company’s thermal management business will focus on strengthening supply for existing internal-combustion engine and hybrid/electric vehicle programmes, particularly in Europe.
