Guizhou Tire to add 30ktpa carbon black capacity by 2027

Chinese tire manufacturer Guizhou Tire Co. is expanding its carbon black production capacity with a new 30 kilotonne per annum (ktpa) line at its Zhazuo operation in Xiuwen County, Guizhou province. The project, slated for startup in June 2027, will be executed by subsidiary Guizhou Qianjin New Materials, according to an environmental impact assessment (EIA) filing. Once operational, the facility will boost the site’s total carbon black capacity to 130ktpa. The new line will produce rubber-grade carbon black, including grades N115, N375, N234, and N330, operating 8,000 hours annually to deliver an average output of 90 tonnes per day or 3.75 tonnes per hour. The EIA describes the project as an upstream initiative to support Guizhou Tire’s tire manufacturing operations. The expansion marks a third-phase development for Guizhou Qianjin New Materials’ existing carbon black facility.
