Mercedes-Benz has released fresh photos and video footage of the new CLA, including the fully electric CLA 250+ with EQ Technology. The model has just been awarded the top five-star rating by Green NCAP, scoring an overall 91 percent in the latest assessment cycle. The accolade follows the car’s five-star Euro NCAP safety score and its title as class ‘Best Performer’, reinforcing the new CLA’s multi-faceted strengths. The CLA 250+ with EQ Technology combines a low combined energy consumption of 14.6–12.2 kWh/100 km with zero tailpipe CO₂ emissions (0 g/km) and is rated in CO₂ class A. Green NCAP’s methodology rewards vehicles that minimise pollutant and greenhouse-gas emissions, operate with low energy use, and reduce environmental impact across the entire life cycle. The CLA’s high sustainability score reflects the combined effect of its slippery 0.21 drag coefficient and highly efficient electric powertrain. Key efficiency enablers include a two-speed transmission and an 800-volt architecture. DC fast charging at up to 320 kW means the battery can be replenished almost as quickly as refuelling a petrol car: up to 325 km of WLTP range can be restored in just ten minutes. According to Green NCAP, the new CLA’s life-cycle CO₂ emissions are around 119 g CO₂-equivalent per kilometre. The fresh imagery and video clips arrive as the brand celebrates 140 years of innovation, marked by a global ‘140 Years. 140 Places’ tour featuring three new S-Class saloons visiting 140 destinations across six continents. All figures were measured using the WLTP test procedure; energy consumption and CO₂ emissions depend on driving style and other non-technical factors.
