A new iSeeCars study has crowned the Ford Expedition as one of the most-driven gas-powered vehicles on American roads, placing ninth with an average of 17,299 miles logged annually. That’s 29.8 percent higher than the average gas vehicle’s 13,323 miles per year. The Expedition trails only the Chrysler Pacifica (20,872 miles), Chrysler Voyager (20,549 miles), Chevy Suburban (19,626 miles), Kia Carnival (18,884 miles), Chevy Malibu (18,857 miles), GMC Yukon (18,734 miles), Nissan Armada (18,098 miles), and Toyota Sequoia (17,856 miles), while the GMC Sierra 1500 (17,069 miles) sits just behind in tenth. The data, drawn from odometer readings of over 2.1 million three-year-old 2025-model vehicles, underscores a clear trend: large, family-friendly SUVs and minivans dominate the top spots, reflecting their role as long-haul workhorses for road trips and daily hauling duties. Regular hybrids, by contrast, averaged 14,696 miles per year—10.3 percent more than gas vehicles and 23.7 percent more than EVs—suggesting that high-mileage drivers are increasingly drawn to fuel-efficient alternatives. “Gasoline models still make up the majority of vehicles in the U.S., but these rankings suggest consumers who drive a lot have embraced the higher fuel efficiency of hybrids,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “Eight of the top 10 most-driven gas vehicles are either a minivan or SUV, illustrating the high use rate and do-it-all nature of these people movers.”
