Descartes Systems Group acquires Tai for $100 million in third 2026 deal

Logistics software giant Descartes Systems Group has inked its third acquisition of 2026, agreeing to buy AI-driven transportation management software provider Tai for $100 million. The Waterloo, Ontario-based company, which specializes in supply chain software-as-a-service, now adds Tai’s freight broker-focused TMS platform to its arsenal, marking the 37th acquisition since 2016. Tai, headquartered in Huntington Beach, California, offers a TMS that handles the full shipment lifecycle for truckload, less-than-truckload, drayage, and cross-border brokers. The deal follows Descartes’ earlier 2026 purchases of Pittsburgh-based fleet safety AI platform Idelic for at least $28 million and Santiago-based last-mile delivery management firm Drivin for $30 million. Descartes emphasized the strategic value of Tai’s transaction, carrier, and shipment execution data, which will integrate into its Descartes Global Logistics Network to bolster broker transportation management capabilities. The company also revealed its second-quarter fiscal 2027 earnings report is scheduled for September 10, after posting a quarterly profit of $48.5 million—a 35% increase year-over-year—and revenue of $193.6 million, up 15% from the prior-year period.
