Ulterior Moto’s Launch gloves arrive as the first product from a new premium street-focused glove brand, born after founder and longtime motorcyclist suffered a broken pinky in a road mishap.
Designed for aggressive street riders who want serious protection without the bulk of full track gloves, the Launch short-cuff gloves pack serious tech into a street-friendly package.
The standout feature is the pinky bridge—two layers of protection plus mid-pinky hard armor—designed to prevent the kind of pinky injury that inspired the brand.

Hard plastic knuckle armor lines the back of the hand, with interior shaping that avoids interference with knuckles during riding.
Palm protection includes two pads safeguarding the thenar and hypothenar, with a 4mm Impacton viscoelastic foam pad at the outer wrist to shield the ulna.

Abrasion resistance comes from goatskin leather paired with Superfabric, a textile using ceramic guard plates bonded to a flexible base.
The gaps between plates keep flexibility intact while the ceramic nodes resist abrasion and cuts, earning Ulterior Moto’s accident-damage replacement warranty.

While the gloves likely meet CE Level 2 standards, they remain US-only to avoid the cost of European certification, keeping the price at $155 per pair.
Comfort and fit are top-tier: accordion-stitched leather across fingers and thumb delivers flexibility without bulk, the interior is soft and non-restrictive, and touchscreen-friendly index fingers and thumbs keep tech access seamless. Perforation ensures breathability on warm days.

Fit is precise—Large size fits the reviewer perfectly with no tightness—but the cinch strap can pull through the buckle when putting the glove on, a minor quibble once the gloves are secured.
The Launch gloves are built for riders who demand premium protection, functionality, and exclusivity without sacrificing street usability.
