The new manufacturing model is expected to cut production costs and allow a price reduction of about 20% compared with earlier models. The company was acquired by Energica Pte. Ltd., a Singapore‑based firm backed by international private investors.

Core engineering and design leadership remains in Italy, with CTO Giampiero Testoni and designer Paolo Imeni still at the helm. The first motorcycle to return to production is the Energica Experia, an adventure‑oriented electric sport‑tourer. Subsequent plans include a phased restart of the Ego, Eva Ribelle and EsseEsse9, initially using existing platforms to speed time to market, with planned upgrades such as new batteries and improvements to range, efficiency, performance and reliability.

Energica is targeting Europe, the United States and Australia as it rebuilds dealer and service networks. Service has already resumed and spare‑parts shipments have restarted to dealers in several countries. The company’s disappearance had been a blow to the electric‑motorcycle sector, as Energica had produced some of the highest‑performance electric bikes and supplied the FIM MotoE World Cup for four seasons, developing high‑voltage and DC fast‑charging technology.

The revival gives the brand a rare second chance. The article notes that moving production to Asia is a trend in the industry, citing Zero Motorcycles’ shift to the Philippines and partnerships with manufacturers such as Zongshen in China.
