The 2024 Aprilia RS 457 is a fully faired lightweight sportbike designed to bring the brand’s racing heritage to both new and returning riders. Slotting right beneath the RS 660, production in India helps keep the MSRP at $6799. Power comes from a 457cc DOHC parallel-twin engine that pumps out 48 horsepower at 9400 rpm and 32 ft-lbs of torque at 6700 rpm.

Thanks to its 270-degree crank, the motor delivers a lively character, with 82% of peak torque available by 3000 rpm, ensuring user-friendly manners on both the street and the track. Mated to a smooth 6-speed gearbox, a quickshifter is available as a $399 accessory. The chassis is a major highlight, featuring a twin-spar aluminum frame that utilizes the engine as a stressed member along with an engine-mounted swingarm for big-bike rigidity.
Tipping the scales at a 386-pound curb weight with a 24.1-degree rake and a 53.2-inch wheelbase, the machine proves exceptionally agile through quick transitions. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm inverted front fork and a rear shock, both offering spring-preload adjustability with firm, communicative damping. Braking is managed by a radially mounted four-piston ByBre caliper gripping a single 320mm front disc, complemented by a 220mm rear disc with a Brembo two-piston caliper and standard ABS that can be switched to front-only for track use.

TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme radials come standard wrapped around cast aluminum wheels. Ride-by-wire technology brings Sport, Eco, and Rain modes—all delivering full power—while traction control features three levels plus an off setting. Standard electronics include a five-inch TFT display, LED lighting, and mirror-mounted turn signals.

Ergonomics are tailored for comfort, with clip-on-style handlebars mounted above the top triple clamp to keep weight off the wrists, a 31.5-inch seat height suited for shorter inseams, and a cutout in the 3.4-gallon fuel tank allowing taller riders to tuck in effectively. Side-panel vents direct engine heat away from the rider. Color options include Opalescent Light, Prismatic Dark, and the RS-GP-inspired Racing Stripes livery available at an extra cost.

Detailed specifications include a bore x stroke of 69 x 61.1mm, a compression ratio of 10.5:1, EFI fueling with two ride-by-wire 36mm throttle bodies, a wet multiplate assist-and-slip clutch, and a Regina 520 chain final drive. Front suspension travel measures 4.7 inches while rear suspension travel spans 5.1 inches. Wheels measure 17 x 3.00 inches up front and 17 x 4.50 inches out back, wrapped in 110/70 x 17 front and 150/60 x 17 rear tires.
