Zeekr has unveiled the 9X, a full-size luxury plug-in hybrid SUV designed to challenge Europe’s established premium brands with a blend of Chinese tech and Swedish design. The flagship model rides on Geely’s SEA-S platform and is powered by a Zeekr Super Hybrid system combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with three electric motors, producing up to 1,381 horsepower. The 900-volt architecture supports a 70-kWh CATL battery offering more than 186 miles (300 km) of electric range and ultra-fast charging from 20% to 80% in just nine minutes. Total system output reaches 897 horsepower in its most powerful configuration, enabling a 0–62 mph sprint in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 149 mph. The Zeekr 9X is engineered for long-distance comfort and tech, with a six-seat lounge-style interior featuring power-adjustable Cloud Lounge seats with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The second row offers VIP-level legroom and individual seating. The cabin includes a 43-inch augmented-reality head-up display, dual 15.4-inch OLED screens, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295-powered infotainment system. Audio comes courtesy of a Naim 32-speaker, 2,120-watt system with Dolby Atmos and active noise reduction. Exterior design, led by former Bentley and Audi design chief Stefan Sielaff at Zeekr’s Gothenburg studio, features a bold upright chrome grille, slim LED lighting, and sculpted bodywork emphasizing its 17.2-foot length and 124.8-inch wheelbase. Cargo space ranges from 23.9 to 75.8 cubic feet, and towing capacity is rated at 4,409 pounds. Zeekr has not yet announced European pricing, but the model is expected to start around €100,000 ($88,000), with top-spec versions likely exceeding that figure. The 9X is positioned as a direct competitor to German luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7, emphasizing performance, ultra-fast charging, and a high-end lounge experience.
