Swiss logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel is exploring strategic options for its Apex Logistics unit, including the potential sale of a roughly 20% stake or a Hong Kong stock market listing, according to people familiar with the matter. The deliberations are ongoing as the company seeks external investment ahead of its July 23 earnings report. Kuehne+Nagel acquired full ownership of Apex Logistics last year at an enterprise value exceeding $4 billion, following its initial majority stake purchase in 2021, which was valued at about $1.5 billion. The Asia-focused freight forwarder, founded in 2001, specializes in air and sea freight, with warehousing and distribution as additional services. It handles up to 4,000 charters annually. Kuehne+Nagel has approached sovereign wealth funds and infrastructure funds to attract new investors while emphasizing that Apex remains a strategic fit for its growth ambitions in Asia and globally. No final decisions have been made, and the company has not commented beyond its official representative statement. Kuehne+Nagel, ranked No. 7 on Transport Topics’ Top 100 North American logistics companies list and No. 12 on its global freight companies ranking, is scheduled to release earnings on July 23, 2026.
