The BMW Group has reported mixed global sales performance in the first half of 2026, with growth in the US and Europe offsetting declines in China and the Asia-Pacific region. The company delivered approximately 1.15 million vehicles worldwide between January and June 2026, representing a 4.2% year-on-year decline. Despite this overall drop, BMW achieved sales growth of 5.4% in Europe and 3.9% in the US, where the BMW brand outperformed the broader market. Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management responsible for Customer, Brands, and Sales, highlighted the strong momentum behind the Neue Klasse platform, noting that incoming orders for the new BMW iX3 are on track to reach the next milestone of 100,000 units. The second Neue Klasse model, the BMW i3, has also seen strong demand since orders opened ahead of its launch. In the second quarter of 2026, fully-electric vehicle sales rose by 5.2% year-on-year, with 116,807 BMW and MINI BEVs delivered to customers. Europe was the primary driver of this growth, with a 38.0% surge in BEV deliveries, totaling 81,445 units. In Germany, BMW secured the second position for fully-electric vehicle registrations in Q2. The BMW brand delivered around one million vehicles globally in the first half of the year, a 6.2% decline, but recorded growth in both Europe (+1.5%) and the US (+4.7%), driven largely by the X models. The new BMW X5, unveiled in late June in the US, is expected to further boost sales momentum. BMW M GmbH delivered 99,595 vehicles in the first half of 2026, a 6.0% decrease. The MINI brand, however, posted a significant year-on-year increase of 11.7%, with 149,538 vehicles sold, marking its sixth consecutive quarter of growth. Fully-electric MINI models were the primary growth driver for the brand. Rolls-Royce delivered 2,523 vehicles in the first half of the year, a 9.8% decline, while BMW Motorrad sold 102,847 motorcycles and scooters, down 2.9%. The company’s electrified vehicle segment (including BEVs and PHEVs) delivered 295,407 units in the first half of 2026, a 7.4% decline, though BEV sales alone rose by 5.2% to 204,295 units. Regional performance varied: Europe sales grew by 5.4%, the Americas by 3.0%, while China and the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (Fourth Pillar) regions saw declines of 20.4% and 9.6%, respectively. Provisional registration figures may be adjusted until the release of the BMW Group Report 2026.
