Top Glove Corporation has achieved independent verification of the product carbon footprint (PCF) for its nitrile rubber gloves, marking the first such certification by a Malaysian glove manufacturer. The verification, conducted by SGS under the ISO 14064-3:2019 standard, covers powder-free nitrile gloves weighing 3.5 grams each. The verified carbon footprint is 26.274 kilograms of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) per 1,000 gloves, based on a cradle-to-gate assessment. Top Glove stated that this milestone builds on its prior life cycle assessment (LCA) efforts and responds to growing demand from customers, regulators, and stakeholders for transparency in tracking greenhouse gas emissions across supply chains, including Scope 3 emissions. The company emphasized the verification as a step toward sustainability accountability in the glove manufacturing sector.
