Italian boutique automaker Automobili Mignatta has pulled back the curtain on its latest hand-built supercar, the Rina Coupe, set to debut in 2027. The newcomer slots above the existing Rina Barchetta in the lineup, offering a closed-roof grand-touring interpretation of the brand’s core philosophy. The Rina Coupe’s design cues include a sleek profile, a distinctive “double-bubble” roof, and a Kamm-style rear end finished with twin round taillights—all modern twists on classic Italian sports-car themes.
Under the carbon-fiber skin, the Rina Coupe packs a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 493 horsepower, mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transaxle. The mechanical package is built around a carbon-fiber monocoque, with Automobili Mignatta emphasizing a fully analog driving experience. The company chose the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed to unveil the first sketches of the Rina Coupe and to showcase a refreshed Rina Barchetta wearing a new livery inspired by Italy’s tradition of artisanal coachbuilding. The Barchetta’s updated look features a light color designed to accentuate its shape, along with forged-carbon accents, a revised wheel design, and interior upgrades such as a redesigned shifter gate and multiple machined-from-solid components. Technical highlights on display included a carbon-fiber driveshaft, a solution aimed at reducing weight and sharpening the car’s dynamic response.
Automobili Mignatta, based in Piedmont, Italy, is positioning the Rina Coupe as a return to the purity of naturally aspirated V8 engines and manual transmissions in Italian sports cars. The brand’s focus on handcrafted construction and analog driving dynamics underscores its commitment to preserving traditional Italian coachbuilding techniques while delivering modern performance.
