The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf is the latest motorsport-inspired timepiece from the Swiss watchmaker, blending racing heritage with bold aesthetics. Unveiled as Gulf Oil’s partnership with Trackhouse Racing enters its second MotoGP season in 2026, the watch channels the iconic light blue and orange Gulf livery that has become synonymous with victory on two wheels and four. The timepiece arrives just months after Raúl Fernández secured Trackhouse’s first premier-class MotoGP win at the Australian Grand Prix in October 2025, wearing the Gulf colors on his Aprilia RS-GP26. Ai Ogura, Fernández’s teammate, also claimed his first MotoGP victory at the Dutch Grand Prix in June 2026, further cementing Gulf’s presence in the championship. TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 line has collaborated with Gulf three times before, but this edition stands out with its direct ties to the Trackhouse team’s racing success.
The 44mm Grade 2 titanium case, sandblasted for a matte finish, houses a black opalin dial split by the unmistakable Gulf stripe. A pale blue lacquered track encircles the dial, while chronograph counters follow the classic three-eye layout. The central seconds hand is finished in lacquered orange, mirroring the crown and the joint beneath the bezel. Skeletonized hour and minute hands ensure legibility without clutter. The forged carbon bezel features a tachymeter scale and GULF lettering, with a randomized fiber pattern that makes each piece unique.
Water-resistant to 200 meters, the watch is powered by TAG Heuer’s Caliber 16 chronograph movement, derived from the Valjoux 7750. The titanium caseback is engraved with the Gulf logo and the edition number, limited to 1,000 pieces. Priced at $6,300, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf goes on sale July 3, 2026. TAG Heuer describes the watch as a statement piece for those who embrace attention, much like Gulf’s racing livery. The collaboration underscores the enduring appeal of Gulf’s colors in motorsport, a legacy immortalized by Steve McQueen’s 1971 film *Le Mans* and his iconic Porsche 917.

Team principal Davide Brivio emphasized Gulf’s iconic status among motorsport fans, while Ogura praised the livery’s cool factor, aligning with his personal style. The watch’s release coincides with Gulf’s growing dominance in MotoGP, where its colors are now a fixture on the Aprilia bikes of Trackhouse Racing.
