Yamaha Tenere 400 Concept ADV Debuts – New 400cc Single Cyl?

Yamaha Tenere 4 Concept Revealed Yamaha Motor India might offer you a 200cc motorcycle as its flagship offering, but the company has a much more diverse and vast portfolio globally, across multiple nameplates. One such nameplate is Tenere, which is Yamaha’s off-road and adventure lineup which is now set to expand with a new entry-level offering. A concept of the same was showcased ahead of EICMA 2026 and it is called Tenere 4 Concept.

This concept does not reveal a lot of its underlying specs and statistics, but it gives us a window of what we can expect from Yamaha’s entry-portal into the Tenere world. Looking at the engine showcased with this concept, it looks like it is a single-cylinder unit with liquid cooling setup.

The engine on Tenere 4 Concept is said to be an all-new single-cylinder unit with around 400cc of displacement. This engine is not likely to be related to Yamaha’s XMAX 400 maxi scooter with a 395cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with 33 bhp and 36 Nm. This scooter was discontinued around 2020 owing to Euro 5 emission standards.

Yamaha Tenere 4 Concept Revealed ADV Design, Form Factor Yamaha Tenere 4 Concept has a typical ADV form factor and follows adventure-bike aesthetics. So, it will be pitched as a dual-sport bike for both off-roading and highway touring. There is generous ground clearance for a dual-sport and a front beak to protect the wind fairing.

Tall windscreen and knuckle guards are notable too. The mainframe of this motorcycle is also said to be an all-new unit tuned for lightness and agility. Fuel tank is low and flat, in design and the rally style seat along with high-set handlebar allows for an upright posture.

This motorcycle is suspended on KYB suspension front and rear and could be fully adjustable. Yamaha Tenere 4 Concept Revealed Tenere 4 Concept looks like it is riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, wrapped with knobby Michelin Anakee Wild tyres. Rear swingarm is a box section type and we can see an Akrapovic branded up-swept exhaust system on this bike as well. More details on this motorcycle will be out in the future.
